ADD/ADHD Behaviors can be an Asset . . . Many ADD/ADHD people help the world go around.
In many instances, ADD/ADHD Brain Chemistry Is a Positive Factor With Respect to Creativity and Mental Drive.
If Time Magazine (July 1994) is right, even former President Clinton has ADD/ADHD. He, and many ADD/ADHD individuals like him, have high-energy, charisma and guts. Because of their ADD/ADHD brain chemistry, they usually function amazingly well in periods of high stress and challenge. By the way, ADD/ADHD and intelligence are independent attributes. Remember, President Clinton performed impressively at Yale Law School!
On the other hand, ADD/ADHD people do horribly when they experience their environment as "boring" or "dull." That is why they often do poorly on weekly school tests but grow up and become CEOs of startup companies, football stars, or race car drivers. They do exceptionally well in the marine corps (especially if there is a war), and as politicians, actors, and entrepreneurs. These endeavors are usually not experienced by those with ADD/ADHD as "boring" activities.
Unfortunately, people with ADD/ADHD brain chemistry sometimes seek out excessively high adventure. The consequence of this can be that they create more problems than they can handle and/or than those in contact with them can tolerate. This is especially true when high adventure includes, for example, driving a motorcycle through town at a 100 mile per hour, abusing others or, at its worst, starting a war.
